It has been a while since I posted a blog and I thought what perfect way to express myself and share my thoughts openly, as opposed to writing in my journal tonight.  This evening I went and saw my accountant  and in the midst of our meeting, we started talking about relationships, men & women. Why is it during the times when we need to talk the most or communicate the most in a relationship, we shut down, therefore pushing the other person away.  Shutting down neither solves the issue but deepens the hurt, and pushes the other person away.   In relationships there will always be ups and downs, good times and challenging times. Men and Women have to be committed to sticking it through and being open and willing to be vulnerable and accepting of each other.  There was a moment in time when i thought that people gave up on love too easily but that is not true. The truth is that there are many, many couples who are in it for the long haul and are truly committeed to making their relationship work and I am convinced..that one of the primary keys in a long, lasting, fulfilling relationship for life is committment. 

I always cherish the moments that I have to sit in silence and just be.  Today I am doing just that and I am so glad. I have been so busy lately with life in general that I had to take a moment to re-focus.  I just recently had a birthday and in a moment of reflection on my special day  I thought about how much I have changed, evolved, and how much more of me is evolving and continuously changing. It was during my time of reflection that I thought about events of the past, circumstances, present & future. Some times it is painful for me to know that I am still dealing with choices that were made in the past, but I am thankful because I have the opportunity to create a better now moment and to make better choices today.  God is good and in the midst no matter what and for that I am thankful. When I think about how blessed I am to have life, breath, and the opportunity to orchestrate the chapters in my life with God leading the way..it makes me smile.

The last couple of months have been a challenge.  A little while ago, I was completely  knocked me off my feet by an unexpected blessing in disguise.  The situation was not a surprise but the way in which I reacted was a surprise.  I was caught off guard.  I thought that I would have handled the situation a little better than I did, because after all…I am Lady In Balance, right?! Wrong.  I am human.  I let a minor “circumstance” or “set back” distract my focus and get the best of me.  How could I do that?! I knew better. It was time to take a step back and decide what it is I really want out of this beautiful, precious gift called life. I could continue scratching the surface or really dig deep into my soul and let God continue to unveil the beautiful vessel he has called me to be. So what is it going to be? I am choosing to dig deep, and allow God to work in me, mold me, and move me. There is absolutely no turning back now…This is a journey and I am holding on for the ride :-)  

Lately, I have been thinking of what makes an ordinary person extraordinary. I am convinced that ordinary people become extraordinary when they take steps outside of the norm to change and remain committed to seeing their dreams and goals come to light. I believe ordinary people become extraordinary when they make the decision to change their mind, thoughts, actions, which lead to different results in their lives. Oprah Winfrey did not become extraordinary overnight, but her committment to growth and desire to succeed and help others transformed her into an extraordinary person. I believe that we all have the ability to be extraordinary and I challenge you today to take those steps today to become extraordinary!

Gave a Little Extra Effort,

Have you ever thought or questioned whether or not God hears you, or if God sees you.  There have been countless times in my life when I wondered if God heard my voice, prayers, or cries.  I remember growing up as a teenager being teased about the way I looked, walked, and talked. My self-esteem was shot and I felt as small as a piece of dust. The pain I felt was so great that I can recall sitting in the corner of my bedroom crying and contemplating suicide. I remember asking God why me and not understanding why people did not like me. I had a beautiful voice, gentle spirit, beautiful smile, and precious heart…all those positive attributes and characteristics did not amount to what others thought of me at that time. Often times it is easier to dwell on the negative, as opposed to the positive. All that mattered at that time was that I was being talked about, teased, and labeled by others who knew no better. It was at that time God reached down and placed his hand over me and strengthened me on the inside. God gave me strength to endure and ignore each hurtful word that I heard. He gave me the strength to walk the halls with my head held high, even as the tears rolled down inside. I appeared as if the words never hurt or fell on deaf ears, but the pain cut deep. The words began to affect my thoughts and I began to believe that I was not worthy of respect so I began to act out in ways that displeased my parents, damaged my spirit, and tainted my soul and body.  

It was at my lowest moment that I had an encounter with God. I remember lying in bed and feeling a tug at my heart to read the bible. I reached inside my purse and pulled out the little green bible my Grandmother gave me and began reading about Gods love. It was that night God spoke in my spirit that I was his child, and that he loved me and wanted me to seek his face. God confirmed his living Word in my life at my weakest moment and in sin. I am aware of God’s presence and his spirit living in me. 

Know that no matter what you may go through God hears us, sees us, and loves us. Love Him, Seek Him, and allow His Love to cover you, keep you, and protect you.

I woke up Tuesday morning around 6am, and no sooner had a opened my eyes the words “The Joy of the Lord is my strength” rolled off my tongue. It was as if my spirit had to release the power of the words into the air and declare it into the atmosphere.  I looked into the mirror and repeated it again “The joy of the Lord is my strength”. As the day progressed and events began to unfold, i needed to draw on the strength of God. My day was not rough or filled with chaotic mayhem, it was a day filled with unusual events, situations, people and oddest remarks. I had to pull on Gods strength and continually ask God to renew my mind and help me to see things in a different light. As I was praying, I began to realize that in many areas of our life we have choices and options. In addition, I realized that I could accept the situations presented to me that day or I could take a different approach. I could choose to look at the day as bad or change my attitude about it. I chose to take a different approach and perceive things a little differently and I decided that instead of reacting to situations, I must be proactive.

It is Thursday and so far every day after Tuesday has gotten better and better. I saw the biggest, brightest rainbow in the sky this evening and it reminded me of the convenant God made with Noah and the covenant and promise God has made me and each and every one of his children.  Be Blessed.

I had the pleasure of attending Synergi Group’s (www.synergigroup.com)  Brand University Marketing Conference in Va Beach today.  Not only did I walk away with a wealth of information, power connections, but I left the conference charged and equipped with a list of ways in which I can make my business and inner self better.  The conference touched on topics such as client building, PR, do-it-yourself-marketing, being authentic, paying -it-forward, direct mail basics, You! The superstar, elevator pitch, going from wimpy to wow..just to name a few! I had the opportunity to talk to and pick the brains of many women who are  living their dreams and walking out their purpose in life.  The knowledge gained and opportunity to build relationships was priceless.

I believe that in order to become the person we desire to be, we must make it a priority to attend workshops, seminars, and read books on how to better improve our lives, relationships, families, businesses, and careers.  In addition, we have to be willing to change and grow. Knowledge is Power and Relationships are essential!

Welcome to Lady In Balance, LLC and welcome to the unfolding of a dream being birthed. 

For years I dreamed of one day being able to step out on faith and live out the dreams that once played in my head and danced in my heart.  When I was a little girl, I often imagined one day being able to make a huge difference in peoples lives either by singing, speaking, acting …it really did not matter…i just knew that I was going to make a difference. I felt it in my spirit.  Somehow as the years went by, those dreams seemed to fade away. I suppose you could say that life got in the way. It was not until I went through one of the most painful periods in my life did God place in my heart a dream and vision, I would one day encourage, uplift, and inspire women from all over to achieve their dreams and goals in life by delivering powerful seminars, and workshops. As well as providing key tools and resources on how to do so, but with everything else there is always a little twist to it.  Lady In Balance, LLC desires for each woman to nurture that little girl inside each and everyone of us!  Lady In Balance, LLC realizes that in order to be all that we are destined to be, we must nurture our mind, body, spirit, and soul.  Our inner self must be whole, in order to achieve outer success.  It can be done!

This is a vision and dream that is truly unfolding before my very eyes and for that I am thankful and so very greatful. I would like to invite you take to this journey with me and i invite you to step out and be that Lady In Balance.
